    Safari won't close
    Manually Migrating Safari
    Safari Won't Open
    Safari Continuously Closes Unexpectedly
    Safari will not close
    Safari won't save bookmarks

Safari Bookmarks Location

Bookmarks.plist is the file where safari bookmarks saved. You can also import bookmarks from Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, OmniWeb, Firefox, and Google Chrome. You can also import a Safari bookmarks.plist file if you’ve saved one from an older Mac computer.

The first time you open Safari, it automatically imports your bookmarks from Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, and Firefox.

Import bookmarks into Safari
Open Safari if it is not already open.
Choose File > Import Bookmarks.
Browse to find the file that contains the bookmarks you want to import, and then click Import (on Windows computers, click Open). Normally the file has “.html” or “.plist” at the end of its name.

If you don’t have a file to import, or can’t find the file, you may need to export the bookmarks from the other browser.

Export bookmarks from Safari
Open Safari if it is not already open.
Choose File > Export Bookmarks.
Specify a location for the exported file. The file’s name is “Safari bookmarks.html.” Most browsers are able to import this type of file.

Safari Unexpectedly Quits
Try emptying the cache more often.  From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Empty Cache or Command + Option + E on your keyboard. If that doesn't help, try resetting Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.                                  Back to the menu bar again, click Safari / Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any Extensions installed, turn that off, try Safari

Reinstalling Safari?

Close all applications and programs on your Mac computer. Go to Apple's Safari page (see Resources). Click the download button on the left side of the page. Choose your version along the left side of the new page. Hit the radio button that corresponds to it. Hit the blue "Download Now" button. Hit the "Save" button in the window that appears. Find the .DMG file that lands on your desktop.  Double-click this file. Watch for another icon to appear on your desktop it will have "Safari" in its name. Double-click that icon if a window does not appear.                                               Click the box icon and follow the installation instructions that appear. You will be asked to agree to a license agreement and designate what driver you want the software to reside.

Click "Install" and wait for the software to install onto your system. You computer will automatically restart.

Safari won't close

Use Command-Option-Escape key combo opens the "Force Quit" dialog window. Use the same that will surely help you.

Manually Migrating Safari

Moving your Apple Mail to a new Mac, or to a new, clean install of the OS, may seem like a difficult task but it actually only requires saving three items and moving them to the new destination. There are a few ways to perform the move. By far the easiest and most often suggested method is to use Apple’s Migration Assistant. This method works well in most cases, but there’s one drawback to the Migration Assistant. Its approach is mostly all-or-nothing when it comes to moving data.

Safari Won't Open
There are a few possibilities. The most likely is that your Safari was moved or deleted. If it was moved, simply click on the spotlight in the top right and type in Safari. Select it under the applications sub menu. It should open as a different application then the question mark and simply drag the question mark off of the dock. After Safari has opened, right click on it and select keep in dock. If it was deleted you can download a new copy at this link: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

Safari Continuously Closes Unexpectedly
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder Type this exactly as you see it here:~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db Click Go Move the Cache.db file to the Trash. Now Try Safari.
Safari won't save bookmarks
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, enter the following in the text box that opens, and press return: ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist Press the key combination shift-command-I to open the Info window. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you should have "read & write" access -- not "custom" access or anything else. Otherwise, click the lock icon and enter your login credentials, then fix the permissions. In the General section, is the box labeled Locked checked? If so, uncheck it. Close the window and try again.

How to Troubleshoot Safari Browser

Posted on 06:41 by Unknown
Safari is a stable and versatile browser for the Mac operating system. If it is not operating properly, there are several possible reasons. If you have checked your Internet connection, modem and cables, and everything seems to be in place, the browser may be to blame. Below is the trouble shooting steps of following questions related to safari browser.

Safari troubleshooting
Safari problems
Safari fix
Safari not updating
Safari browser

1.    Open a new Safari window. Go to a different website, one that loads easily, such as Google, before going to other websites to see how the browser responds. Shut down Safari completely and restart it.

2.    Clear the cache and history by resetting Safari. Click on "Safari" in the menu bar at the top of the screen and select "Reset Safari." Pick the options you wish to use, but at the very least clear the cookies, cache and history. If you are having problems with a particular website, it is often because there is an older version in the cache the browser is using.

3.    Restart your computer. This will often resolve problems because certain housekeeping tasks are done by the operating system when the computer reboots. If you leave your computer on all the time, restart it once in a while.

4.    Download a new version of Safari. Click on the Apple icon in the top menu bar and select "Software Update." This will check if there is a new version of Safari available for download. If the Software Update shows an update available, download it.

1.    Download the latest official version of Firefox from mozilla.org.
2.    Exit Firefox: At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Exit

1.    At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go over to the Help sub-menu
and select Troubleshooting Information.
2.    Click the Reset Firefox button in the upper-right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page.
3.    To continue, click Reset Firefox in the confirmation window that opens.
4.    Firefox will close and be reset. When it's done, a window will list the information that was imported. Click Finish and Firefox will open.

Today we are writing on Internet explorer crash issue. This information applies to Internet explorer 7 and Internet explorer 8.

If Internet explorer crashes or closes immediately after being opened, you might get an error message about Internet explorer not working or that is encountered a problem and needs to close. First make sure your Internet connection is working properly. This problem might be caused by low memory or corrupted or missing system files. Restart your computer to clear the memory and then open Internet explorer by itself.
If your Internet connection is working and you've restarted your computer but Internet Explorer is still having problems, try the following:
While browser add-ons can enhance your online experience, they can occasionally interfere or conflict with other software on your computer. Try starting Internet Explorer without add-ons to see if the problem goes away. Here's how:

Disable Add-ons
Click the Start button, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
If disabling all add-ons solves the problem, you might want to disable all add-ons and then turn on add-ons only as you need them. This will allow you to figure out which add-on is causing the problem.

To manually disable add-ons
Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.

To manually reset Internet Explorer settings
1.       Close all Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows.
2.       Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
3.       Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
4.       Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
5.       Click Reset.
6.       When you are done, click Close, and then click OK.
7.       Close Internet Explorer and reopen it for the changes to take effect.
