How to Create a New Gmail account and how to protect it from hackers?

Gmail is an  email service provided by search engine giant Google. When Gmail was first created, users could only create a Gmail account ID if they were invited by someone else that already had Gmail, but as its popularity has increased, Gmail opened its doors to all comers. Now you can make a new Gmail email address at any time, even if you already have an existing Gmail account.

Instructions

1. Launch your Web browser and navigate to gmail.com

2. Click on the "Create an Account" button. You can also click "About Gmail" and "New Features" to find additional information about the Gmail service.  

3. Fill out the information on the "Create a New Google Account" page as accurately as possible. You will have to provide your first and last name, your gender and your birthday. 

4. Choose your desired Gmail account ID, a password, a security question for the password and the answer for it.

5 Enter a user verification code that consists of both text and numerals and agree to the terms of service and privacy policy. 

6. Click "Next." If the username you have chosen is not available, Google will prompt you to enter another ID.

7. You will then be asked to verify your account. After doing this, your account will be created. 

How To Protect Gmail Account From Hackers

Email account is one of the important for all of us. we use email each day. Also for all other log-in’s we use our email address so all the important passwords and other details will be stored only on our account. So everything is controlled by only our email account. if it is hacked means hackers will get all the information. so it is a biggest loss for us. So beware of hackers is best. so Protect your gmail account before getting hacked. 

1. Dont Sign in At Public Places -This is very important. In some public browsing centers they may use Key Logger software, which is used to track what you are typing in the keyboard.The Keylogger records your keystrokes, saves them in a simple text file and sends it to an email address or to an FTP server.You cant know this. So hackers will hack using this. 

2. Monitor Your Gmail Account Activity- You can monitor the IP addresses of the computers used to log in to your Gmail account. To find the IP addresses, log in to Gmail, scroll down to Bottom and click account activity details link

Now it Open “Activity Information” in a new Tab, It should mention your IP. If it is varies or if you have any unknown IP. Click “Sign Out all other sessions”.

3. Do Not Click On Unwanted Spam Mails- There are so many reasons for the spam mails in your inbox. So if you get any spam mail, or a mail like click and earn, Online Survey from unknown ID, You won some money means Dont click on the links. Immediately delete such mails. It will Turn your account to hackers hand. So you must care of this reason.  

4. Choose a Strong Password- Choosing a strong password is the important matter. So dont use a single password for all accounts. and use symbols, numbers, name. Don't use your loved ones name, your date of birth, you college or school name, or mobile number. 

5. How To Use Google 2-step verification ? 

(You will be asked for a code whenever you sign in from an unrecognized computer or device.)

Goto your account setting page from any of Google account.  In the Account Overview Page, If you are a Google Plus user Click edit on  “Using 2-step verification”, or Click On “Using 2-step verification”

Click On Start In The Next Page, 

Now in the “Set Up Your Phone” page choose your country and enter your mobile number with country code. and choose a Code receiving method. 

After entering Code, Click Verify. Then Click Next. 

In the next page, if you want to remember current computer for 30 click remember. or unclick that. and click next.  

Now  Click “Turn On 2-Step Verification” and enter your password. Now you will get in to the new page. Here you have to separate passwords for some application. 

• AdWords Editor
• Apps on smartphones such as Android, BlackBerry or iPhone
• Chrome Sync
• Mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook
• Chat clients such as Google Talk or AIM 

So in the generate password area name the application and generate a password. And create separate passwords for the above application.

*Here the Application password will be not easy to remember. so if you want to log-in to Specific Application log-in to your account and come to 2-Step Verification page. Then revoke access of previous password and generate a new password. Or save it in your mobile or in email with a different name.   Without these password you cant use the above application. 

If you want to Turn Off This “2-Step Verification“ . Goto account settings click on “Using 2-Step Verification” Then Click “Turn Off 2-Step Verification”. you will get a pop-up window click OK. All your application passwords will be removed.
